Tidelines

Although inspired by the beaches of southwest Florida, this mixed media collage portrays anywhere the sea meets the sand. With increasing development of beachfront property the high tideline has become a determining factor as to public versus private ownership. But nature's beach creatures carry on with their lives undisturbed by the machinations of mankind.

This collage is composed of the various flotsam and jetsam one expects to find on a beach. The focal point of this abstract mixed media collage is a fiberglass fragment from a boat. The mosaic tiles are reminiscent of the mosaic inlaid concrete tables and benches of my boyhood. The fossilized shell represents the timelessness of the sea and sand.

I'm wishing that every day may be a "day at the beach" for you!
