Indelible Ink
In this found object assemblage a scroll reads, "Continents arise from the sea. Civilizations arise from the word." Ancient civilizations grew in proportion to the flow of ink used by scholars. Literature, poetry, history; all are passed from generation to generation. The written word is indelibly etched in all cultures. Five early civilizations are featured. Greece, Persia (Arabic), Indus Valley (Hindi), China, and Mongolia. The ink blots represent the various cultures with the proverbial 'pearls of wisdom' held within.
